From Alarm Management to Alarm Intelligence

Read our key takeaways from AVEVA World Milan 2026 – written out by our Director of Sales & Business Development, Yong The.

AVEVA World Milan was more than another industry event for Dimension Software. It was a homecoming, a validation point, a celebration of relationships, and an exciting glimpse into where industrial operations management is heading next.
As a sponsor of AVEVA World for the eighth consecutive time across two continents, Dimension has become a familiar presence at this event. Each year, we reconnect with customers, partners, AVEVA colleagues, former colleagues, and long-time friends. Milan was no exception. In many ways, it reinforced something we value deeply: industrial technology may be built on data, systems, and platforms, but lasting success is built on trust, shared experience, and genuine relationships.
The week began in exactly that spirit. On Monday evening, Dimension hosted a casual dinner with customers and partners in Milan. What stood out most was the energy around the table. The conversations were open, generous, and full of ideas. Customers and partners shared their experiences, explored new possibilities, and reflected on how Asset Intellect is being used across different industries and operational challenges.
As the evening moved from sunset into late-night conversations over wine and taglieri, the enthusiasm only grew stronger. It was a wonderful reminder that the best feedback often comes not from formal presentations, but from honest conversations with people who use, support, and believe in what we are building.

One of the most meaningful highlights came on Tuesday afternoon during the Marine Community Forum. Kari Berte Bye, Manager of Operations Analytics from Yinson Production, shared Yinson’s success in adopting Asset Intellect to better manage process alarms across its global fleet of Floating Production, Storage and Offload assets.
For us, this was a proud moment. There is no higher praise than a customer standing on stage, in public, and sharing the value they have achieved. Yinson’s story demonstrated exactly what we believe Asset Intellect is designed to support: practical, scalable, operations-focused solutions that help teams deal with real industrial complexity.
Another proud moment followed on Wednesday morning when Thomas Latour, Global Process Control Advisor at Cargill, shared how Dimension Software’s Alarm Sentinel connected to Cargill’s PI Systems across 40 sites globally to address overwhelming alarm rates and improve the quality of information available to operators.
These testimonials were humbling, but also deeply encouraging. They showed that our technology is not simply being deployed; it is being adopted, trusted, and used to solve meaningful operational problems. They also created real momentum at our booth, with several prospective customers visiting us after hearing these customer stories and wanting to understand how similar outcomes could be achieved in their own operations.
A further highlight of the week was the first truly public launch of Xora, our AI module for Asset Intellect. The response was extremely positive. Many who saw Xora for the first time were surprised by how relevant, practical, and effective it appeared.
That response matters because our approach to Industrial AI is deliberate. We are not applying AI as a novelty or as a generic layer over disconnected data. We are applying it to deterministically developed, fit-for-purpose operational use cases where the underlying context, workflows, data relationships, and governance are already in place. To an educated industrial audience, that made sense. Xora was seen not as AI for its own sake, but as AI applied where it can support real decisions, real workflows, and real operational improvement.

AVEVA World Milan also reinforced the growing opportunities around AVEVA CONNECT and the broader ecosystem. The event brought together customer sessions, community groups, technical sessions, innovation areas, and networking opportunities across the week, all centred on helping industrial organizations make faster, better-informed operational decisions.
For Dimension, the value of the event was not just in booth traffic or lead generation, although those were certainly strong. The deeper value was validation. We came away with renewed confidence that our approach to operations management is being recognized and accepted in the market.
Asset Intellect sits in a space that industrial organizations increasingly need: the space between raw operational data and practical business outcomes. It helps bring together data, context, workflows, dashboards, rollups, and action tracking in a way that enables fit-for-purpose solutions to be deployed quickly and sustainably. The customer stories from Yinson and Cargill were powerful examples of that approach working at scale.
Wednesday night’s AVEVA After Dark event captured the relationship side of the week beautifully. With world-class bands including Roxette and Eiffel 65, and an incredible range of food trucks to choose from, it became much more than an evening function. Customers, partners, AVEVA colleagues, and friends came together to celebrate, reconnect, and strengthen relationships for the future. The official agenda listed AVEVA After Dark as a key Wednesday evening networking event, and it certainly delivered on that promise.

By the time AVEVA World Milan came to a close, there was a natural sense of sadness that the week was over. But there was also a strong sense of momentum. We had reconnected with past customers, met exciting new prospects, strengthened partnerships, received strong validation for Xora, and shared meaningful time with people who have become part of Dimension’s extended global community.
Most importantly, Milan confirmed that Dimension Software is not only recognized as a technology provider, but increasingly as a thought leader in operations management. Our focus remains clear: helping industrial organizations turn operational complexity into visibility, context, action, and measurable value.
To everyone who spent time with us in Milan, thank you. To our customers who shared their stories so openly, thank you for your trust. And to the Dimension team, thank you for the energy, professionalism, and passion you brought throughout the week.
